恙虫病（Tsutsugamuchi disease）又称丛林斑疹伤寒（Scrub typhus）是一类重要的自然 疫源性疾病，广泛流行于亚洲和太平洋地区。引起发病的病原体为恙虫病东方体（Orientia Tsutsugamuchi），专性细胞内寄生，革兰氏染色阴性，恙虫病东方体有 Gilliam、Karp、Kato、 Kawasaki 等多个具有抗原特异性的血清型。在我国恙虫病广泛流行，野生啮齿类动物是自 然界储存宿主，人主要因野外活动被传播媒介-恙螨叮咬而感染。由于无特征性临床症状（以 发热为主，部分病人有皮肤焦痂等），病人往往被误诊或漏诊而造成严重后果，截短型重组 56KDa 抗原，作为研发原材料提供给免疫学诊断试剂 企业。大量实验数据表明，该重组抗原具有良好的诊断特异性和敏感性，对 Gilliam、Karp、 Kato、Kawasaki 等型的感染血清均能有效识别
